August 19, 2010 CPI for Autism Spectrum Disorder (11:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.)

Course Objectives:

• Enhance and expand your ability to confidently and competently apply intervention strategies to your intervactions with individuals with autism spectrum disorders.
• Explore appropriate adaptations and interventions to specifically address the needs and learning styles of people with ASD.
• Problem solve a variety of scenarios that staff may encounter during a crisis intervention when supporting individuals with ASD.

  Trainer:  Karin Marquardt, Autism Specialist, SW/WC Service Cooperative

  Target Audience:  Crisis Team Members, Special Education Teachers, Early Childhood Teachers, Paraprofessionals and others who work with students with ASD and challenging behaviors.

  ***Participants must have attended a full CPI training to register for this course.

  Cost: Free to Windom Center Members, $25.00 for non-member districts/participants. *Includes workbook and afternoon snack.
